Leigh Primary School

Achievement

We understand that pupil success is not just about brilliant SATs results. Success can also be found in completing a painting, learning a new song on the violin, getting better at spelling, swimming a whole length or finally being brave enough to climb a tree  in our nature area. Whilst our academic results are impressive we believe that success isn't always big and showy but that it happens everyday in every classroom.

Our children work incredibly hard and we are rightly proud of them, everyday.

*The Government did not publish KS2 school level data for the 2021 to 2022 academic year.

Analysis

These are very good results. They show that 89% of the children in Year 2 achieved at least the expected standard in Maths, 86% in Reading and 75% in Writing. They also show that a quarter of children exceeded the expectation in Reading and Writing and that one in five exceeded the expectation in Maths. They represent some very pleasing results and show that the children in Year 2 have done extremely well.

Although no national comparisons are available at the time of writing in Key Stage 1, we are delighted with them and are confident they will compare favourably when such statistics become available.

These are outstanding results. They show that 92% of the children in Year 6 achieved the expected standard in Maths, 92% achieved the expected standard in Writing, 96% achieved the expected standard in Reading and 100% achieved the expected standard in SPaG. They also show that 85% of children achieved the expected standard in Reading, Writing and Maths. Equally pleasing are the figures for those children exceeding the expected standard and, as you can see, all our exceeding results are also substantially above national averages. The average scaled score in Reading, Maths and SPaG are all 4 points higher than national averages.

The children have worked extremely hard and we should be rightly proud of their achievements. However a good school is one that is constantly reflective and always wants to improve.

The children have worked extremely hard and we should be rightly proud of their achievements. However a good school is one that is constantly reflective and always wants to improve. The school will continue to analyse these in depth and plans are in place to progress the breadth and depth of the curriculum as we work towards preparing for September 2019.
